Swimming Pools

AquaVerre Finishing.
GRP which has been the back-bone of my company since its birth and has proved itself to myself and clients for over 30 years.
The type used is non micro-porous and used on pools and giant waterworld aquariums as it does not have the problem of osmosis, as with that used on kit car bodies.
On completion of the superstructure the walls of the pool receive a strong, smooth mortar render that after its curing period receives a resin coat that penetrates and also covers the mortar to act as a seal and a bonding layer. The matting is then applied simultaneously with the resin and is rolled to ensure that it follows and adheres to every shape and contour of the pool. After resin mat layers have cured the surface is smoothed by sanding and then the jelcote, with colouring, is applied by spray to give an overall thickness, strength, durability and resistance to penetration superior to that of a plastic liner. The colours range from white to deep sable which when the pool is full will reveal colours from the natural blue of water to a super bluey-green of a sandy lagoon.

The finish of the jelcote is a gentle, dimpled texture that provides a non-slip finish and a sparkle to the surface of the water. The product and finish, as a whole, is not to be confused with the smooth, monocoque pools that are lowered into place by crane onto a bed and backfill of pea shingle.

Our pool relining service can replace plastic liners with a stronger more durable product than the original thin plastic liner and unlike Pebble Tec® can be applied to most surfaces from galvanised steel and plastic panels to the standard smooth mortar finish.

PebbleTec® – The new generation of finish for AquaPierre pools.
Pebble Tec® is a popular choice in the USA and is now making ground in Europe and as with GRP it is also suitable for pool refurbishment as well as new pools.
The use of pebble as a pool interior was first perfected in Australia over 20 years ago. It was primarily developed as a structural alternative to marble and cement renders, but over the years has evolved into a real alternative to stone or mosaic tile finishes. Through the use of naturally occuring alternative pebble colours, pools can be finished in a variety of effects.

A Natural Product.
At specific times of the year, the natural pebble is carefully excavated, graded and sterilised before being shipped around the world. The pebble is sourced from New Zealand and the entire process is carried out using methods fully licensed by the New Zealand government and approved by environmental agencies. Even the packaging used is biodegradable and heat sealed and the whole process avoids all pollutant bi-products and harmful emissions.

Application.
On site, the pebbles are mixed with white cement and applied mechanically or by hand onto the shell to give a beautiful natural looking interior finish. This whole process takes approximately 5 days to complete, thereafter the pool can be filled immediately. The pebble forms a completely waterproof layer without the need for a waterproof render/screed coat beneath*.
The slection of pebble colours combined with coloured ceramic chips produces a unique variety of water tones. There are no corners and no sharp edges.

The Result.

  • a pool with a natural and pleasing texture
  • a completely waterproof surface
  • an extremely durable and reliable surface
  • a slip-resistant surface
  • a surface which is easy to clean and maintain
  • a finish without the need for re-grouting
  • no loose tiles
  • no osmosis re de-lamination
  • no re-painting or renovation work

Why Choose PebbleTec® ?
The difference between PebbleTec®, traditional mosaic tile and plastic liners is plain to see. Several other systems exist which emulate the exposed aggregate look. The important point though is that none of these use quartz stone as the base material – PebbleTec® does. Quartz stone is hard (geologically speaking it is 97% of the way towards being a diamond). It is very difficult therefore to grind or cut back to cover up mistakes in the application so it is critical that the installation crew are experienced, competent and in possession of the correct tools.

  • Only registered PebbleTec® applicators can offer these products
  • The material is not pre-bagged (with cement) so has no shelf life and customers are guaranteed of cement quality.
  • The base of quartz stone gives a far superior surface in terms of durability and longevity than any alternative using calcium or artificial based stone.

Product Ranges.

  • PebbleTec®
The original 2-3mm size. This roduces a pleasantly textured surface which is slip resistant and provides a natural appearance.
  • PebbleSheen®
A smaller pebble of 1-2mm which is lightly buffed with a diamond disc after application to produce a flatter, smoother, slip resistant surface for more traditional pools.

Product Colours.
Paradise Blue – Caribbean Blue – Tropical Jade – Sandy Beach – Paradise Gold – Black – Gold.

What makes me different?
In some cases, not a lot to be honest! There are many services like mine in France, some better than others, some great, some a bit of a rip-off. The difficulty for you, as a prospective client, is that all you see is a website, probably similar to various others. You would be best really to choose one in the area where you live, have a second home, or where you are looking to buy. You will be considering the price too. My charges are 15 euros/hour for French lessons, 25 euros/hour for admin work, translation etc, which is very competitive but probably not the cheapest you will find. If in doubt, why not contact me, we can have a chat, by phone or email, which won’t cost you a penny, and then you can decide whether to come back to me or not.

You can contact me by email via the contact page on the site or by calling me on my mobile 0622 534749 (add 0033 if calling from outside France)
